New Builds

P.J. Kitching Ltd specialises in construction services encompassing a wide range of projects, from individual new homes to the development of multiple houses, as well as ventures in the commercial and community sectors. Reflecting our unwavering commitment to comprehensive sustainability, our expertise extends beyond the physical construction. We provide dedicated support with planning applications, architectural drawings, and building control procedures.

Embracing a strong commitment to eco-friendliness in house construction, we seamlessly integrate an array of renewable technologies and innovative practices. Solar energy takes centre stage, as photovoltaic panels grace rooftops to harness sunlight, generating clean electricity for household needs. Cutting-edge battery systems efficiently store excess solar energy, allowing homeowners to use self-generated electricity even during overcast days or at night. Complementing this, Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems ensure efficient airflow, retaining indoor warmth while minimising energy waste. To further reduce carbon footprints, we incorporate air and ground-source heating systems that tap into natural thermal reserves, expertly regulating indoor temperatures. Through our meticulous air-tightness measures, we ensure minimal heat loss and utmost comfort.

In this holistic approach to housing construction, the harmonious fusion of solar energy, MVHR systems, air and ground-source heating, battery storage, and air-tightness creates homes that are environmentally conscious, self-sufficient, and forward-looking.

Severn House - the first of three new eco builds at Rous Lench, Evesham, has been completed. This A-rated home features solar PV, rainwater harvesting, an air source heat pump, battery storage, a car charger, and underfloor heating on both the ground and first floors. It also includes MVHR (mechanical ventilation and heat recovery).

The building is clad with Abodo, a high-performance, sustainable timber sourced from New Zealand. Abodo wood is known for its durability, stability, and eco-friendly treatment processes, making it an ideal choice for environmentally conscious construction.

As one of only three dwellings on the site, it boasts very high-spec fittings. With 2,950 sqft of thoughtfully designed interior and exterior space, this home is a testament to sustainable living. It boasts an array of eco-friendly features, making it extremely energy efficient. A state-of-the-art Panasonic air source heat pump provides 100% of the heating and hot water needs, complemented by a Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery system to optimise efficiency. Underfloor heating throughout the property, controlled individually in each zone, ensures comfort.

The 6kW solar PV system on the roof, linked to battery storage and an EV Zappi charger, enhances the home's sustainability. The sitting room is particularly striking, featuring a vaulted ceiling and wall-length sliding doors that blend indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly. The German-engineered Schuller kitchen is fully fitted with high-end appliances, inspiring any chef. A secret pantry and an expansive utility room add to the home's convenience.

The ground floor includes a bedroom with a fully accessible en-suite shower room, ideal for future-proofing, along with a separate study perfect for remote work. Ample storage is provided by a double garage, a workshop/bicycle store, and a boot room. A beautifully designed oak staircase leads to additional bedrooms, including a luxurious master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and glass balcony, plus a spacious family bathroom.

Modern connectivity is ensured with Open-Reach broadband, Cat 6 data wiring, WiFi extenders, and TV wiring throughout. Outside, the gardens offer a blank canvas for gardening enthusiasts, with two private patio areas capturing the southwest sunlight for perfect al fresco dining and entertaining.

Little Croft

Little Croft is an eco-friendly annex nestled within the grounds of The Croft, thoughtfully designed with sustainability, comfort, and the needs of the elderly in mind. This eco build features super insulation, providing exceptional thermal efficiency and energy conservation throughout the year. The structure is finished in Accoya cladding, a high-performance, sustainable wood known for its durability, stability, and resistance to rot. Accoya is sourced from fast-growing, sustainably managed forests, and undergoes a non-toxic modification process that enhances its longevity, making it an ideal choice for eco-conscious building projects.

The annex also boasts a green living roof, which not only enhances insulation but also promotes biodiversity, creating a habitat for local wildlife while blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.

Accessibility is a key aspect of the design, with extra-wide doorways, level access, and a walk-in shower, ensuring the space is welcoming and functional for everyone, particularly the elderly. The annex is powered by renewable energy sources, including solar panels paired with battery storage, allowing for efficient energy use and storage. It also includes an electric car charging point, catering to the needs of environmentally conscious residents and visitors. Heating is provided by an air source heat pump, supported by underfloor heating, which distributes warmth evenly and enhances energy efficiency.

Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) ensures a constant supply of fresh air while recovering heat from the outgoing air, further reducing energy consumption.

The swimming pool, situated within the grounds of The Croft, is a natural freshwater pond with a designated swimming area, offering a tranquil and chemical-free swimming experience that complements the property's eco-friendly ethos.
